Claudia Vulliamy starts out her speech on rejection by telling her TEDxTeen audience that not being accepted to Oxford University might just have been one of the best things to happen to her.
She goes on to explain the whole application process, and how she pumped herself up for acceptance when she made it through the interviews. When she finally received her letter, she dealt with her rejection by turning the formal piece of paper into an abstract work of art. When her mother came home and saw what she had done, she asked if she could share an image of it on Twitter, where it soon went viral.
Due to this, Vulliamy gained support from people all over the world and learned of the many others who has similar stories to hers. By exposing this, Vulliamy's speech on rejection shows that one failure never defines a person, and that they can always "cut it up and make it into something else."
