Jaime Neely — November 21, 2012 — Keynote Trends
Peter Diamandis explains why he believes the future is shaping up to be a lot better than people today assume in this solving global challenges keynote. The Chairman and CEO of The X Prize Foundation believes that we are living in a world where small organizations can do things that were previously reserved exclusively for governments and large corporations.
One of the factors deterring people from believing in the future is the linear mind frame -- which has existed for 150,000 years -- that people are applying to problems. Diamandis argues that things today are not linear, they are global and exponential. Computation growth, for example, has experienced smooth growth over the last 100 years. Technology has been enabling people to turn nothing into an abundance of something. Because of this, people need to stop viewing technology as the problem.
