Daniel Pink's Salesperson Talk Explains How We're All Selling Something

Bestselling author Daniel Pink's salesperson talk explores how everyone, no matter their job role, is a salesperson to some degree regardless if the word is explicitly used in their title. Pink argues that we are all salespeople regardless if what we are exchanging is a monetary transaction, an idea, a service or an amount of time.
Pink begins his speech by referring to one of the most influential American plays, The Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller. While only one in nine people have the word 'sales' in their title, the other eight people are still to some degree using the same tactics of persuasion and influence to meet their goals. In this respect we are all trying to sell something whether it be in a traditional or less explicit manner. "Like it or not," Pink concludes, "we’re all in sales."
