Creative Population Economics

Richard Florida views the business and artistic world as one, correlating the effects of both economics and creative minds. As a professor at the University of Toronto, he has spent extensive amounts of time researching the thriving artistic communities within the separate city districts. Florida finds parallels in long-term economic recovery in relation to talent migration and urban renewal. He argues that regions with high concentrations of artists, musicians, LGBT populations and “high bohemians” create an accelerating rate of economic development. This creative population draws in more open and personal professional and personal environments. These neighbourhood flourish, and create a challenging standard for creative thinking and development.
