In his recruitment speech, Gustav Borgefalk explains the state of job recruitment. The tech entrepreneur has experience working in what he calls the "revolution in recruitment," building a bridge between education and employment.
The recruitment speech discusses how access to opportunity, or a lack thereof, is linked to the political movements we have seen recently in the United States with the election of Donald Trump and in the UK with Brexit. He describes it as a promise the free world failed to deliver. The last several generations built a system and social contract where providing access to education would qualify people for society, control the social order and build good citizens. Accessible education also promises social mobility, meaning it wouldn't matter what class you were born into and enables people to enjoy a rags to riches story.
However, times have changed and people are now expected to have many more jobs -- four before age 30 and 20 in a lifetime. This suggests a restructuring is needed and focus on lifelong learning.
