Ray Kurzweil Discusses Gaining Education From Risks

As an inventor and theorist of futurism concepts, Ray Kurzweil is highly experienced in risk. While failure can be frequent, taking risks is highly beneficial. After earning his degree at MIT, he invented the first print-to-speech reading machine for the blind. The uncertainty of the project was viewed as a challenge, and the technology was eventually used by such stars as Stevie Wonder.
Kurzweil views entrepreneurship as a form of highly valuable education. He argues that exponential learning occurs from the risk-taking processes of the independent business world. Allowing students to experience the business world, and experience hands on lessons is more valuable and effective than class room teaching. The process allows students to engage in self-learning and self-improvement independent of institutional enforcements. The subject of 'entrepreneurial studies' should be incorporated into the general curriculum, rather than it standing as an extracurricular project.
