With each passing day, more and more people are getting involved and more conscious about living an environmentally sustainable lifestyle; Colin Beavan discusses his thoughts on an environmentally conscious lifestyle in his progressive living speech.
Progress means elevating the current standards of a situation. Beavan discusses that the progress in environmentally sustainable living isn’t properly being addressed. Instead of asking how to reduce the world’s consumption, people should be asking how can they use those resources to make them happy. He sites an example of how if everyone were to use electric cars the world would still have traffic jams. People shouldn’t be asking whether they can do it, but rather, if they should do it.
