David Karp's Personal Blogging Keynote Talks Tumblr's Emergence
Jaime Neely — October 16, 2012 — Keynote Trends
In this personal blogging keynote, Tumblr founder David Karp discusses the emergence of creating an online identity through personal websites. He begins his speech by taking the audience back to 2006 and 2007, when the state and landscape of the 'blogosphere' was extremely different than it is today. The spectrum of ways and means for an online user to express themselves was staggeringly narrow, and Karp wanted to do something about this.
His objective with Tumblr was to give users the ability to create something they were truly proud of, and he had two ways for them to do this. The first was to give users total freedom of expression in that they could post anything they wanted. The second was the ability to customize each and every post to maximize self-expression.
This personal blogging keynote demonstrates how David Karp's creation of Tumblr has truly revolutionized the online experience.
