This motivation speech by MK Haley discusses how individuals can overcome their fears to create new ideas and innovations. Haley explains how the road to success and innovation is not easy, and requires specific tactics by groups and companies in order to overcome that looming fear of failure.
Haley explains in this motivation speech that oftentimes people tend to create a strict set of guidelines and rules in their head even without having been told anything. The challenge is for individuals to question those inherent ideas, to consider the fact that possibly there aren’t actually any rules that we need to adhere to. Referencing Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, Haley explains how normally there are a variety of levels and steps we need to go through before we can be creative. The levels leading up to innovation outlines the risks involved in striving for creativity. This is what causes fear.
Haley states that the solution to overcoming these paralyzing fears is to resist judgement over ideas and accept the fact that this process involves patience and failure.
