The End of Evolutionary Pressure

Theoretical physicist Dr. Michio Kaku suggests that humankind has stopped evolving, abolishing a multitude of common stereotypes expressed in popular culture imagery that includes books and films.

Proving his point, Kaku explains how the world of the past held enormous pressures for survival, while today's world holds no such pressures. Humans are no longer faced with evolutionary pressures, meaning that we have stopped evolving as humans.

Thanks to modern technological advances, our genes are spread throughout the earth, with no inhabited areas left undiscovered or inaccessible. Despite an end of our physical evolution, the physicist believes that there is room for genetic re-engineering in the future, stressing the growth of technology and its immense impact on the future of evolution.
