Dean Kamen, the founder of FIRST and the president of DEKA Research, examines individuals' power to strive despite their history or background. He states that every child from every cultural background, social status and gender has the ability to succeed if properly stimulated intellectually and nurtured by their support system. If focused, everyone is capable of thinking creatively, problem solving and understanding complex concepts.
