As executive members of Best Buy's corporate structure, Cali Ressler and Jody Thompson developed and implemented ROWE: results-only work environments, a management concept that encourages employees to maintain a healthy work-life balance for employees. By allowing employees greater flexibility and the option to distribute their workload as they see fit, the ROWE system also improves relationships between management and employees, as well as encouraging efficiency and trust.
Cali Ressler and Jody Thompson experienced an office culture transformation with the implementation of the ROWE concept, and found a shift in the priorities of employees toward improving skills and self-motivation. By eliminating unnecessary meetings, pet projects and wasted time within the 40 hour work period, Best Buy was able to improve life and work experiences for employees.
