The Working Homeless

In this personal presentation, writer and journalist Becky Blanton talks about a time in her life when she became a working homeless person. She intimately shares details on what the experience was like and talks about how it felt to feel invisible.

Although she explains that she chose to take on this lifestyle at first in order to help grieve her father's death, what she didn't expect was how society's perception of her would change so quickly. Though her talent, IQ, values and personality hadn't changed, people's attitudes towards her had. In this touching keynote, Becky Blanton shows that there are thousands of working people who live out of vans and cars and encourages her audience to see that just because someone is homeless, doesn't mean that their lives don't have value.
